First Day of Driving w/ Driver's License

I got my driver's license last March and I did not drive until today. I must admit I was very nervous. Thankfully I have someone to help me get through it. Hearing the engine start I became more nervous but I told myself I can do this. Carefully I put down the handbrake and started. Getting out from our town homes is quite difficult because the road leads to EDSA. Where drivers are so rude (hahaha). But guess what I made it to our office in one piece. No scratch mark on our car. A bit slow driving but who cares as long as I'm safe. My companion told me I was ok and needs more practice but overall it turned out smoothly. I still have jitters till now but tomorrow is another day. I have to practice, practice, practice. Sabi nga nila, lakasan lang ng lood ang pagddrive. Di mo maiiwasan ang mga pasaway na driver. You just have to be extra careful.

Till next time, which is tomorrow. :-)

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

In observance of Mother's Day this May 13, 2012 (sunday) I have listed possible gifts I would love (take note LOVE!) to receive. Just in case my husband would read this (you know what to give me) :-)

  • Diamond Solitaire Ring

Of course number 1 in every woman's list is jewelry right. Hehe. Need I say more?

  •   Banana Taipei Pink Bag
I'm a bag person more than a shoe person. Bag would be my number two in the list. I love this banana taipei bag because of its look. Looks like hermes birkin bag in front but the sides would be the difference. With its funky color, who would not love them. Comes in summer colors.

  •  Dinner date
I am choosing Sakusaku in Tomas Morato or Uncle Cheffy in Centris. I both love the food and the ambience.

  • A special cake or ice cream cake
I would love to see something with a "happy mother's day" greetings. Not particular with flavors though (as of the moment i am not eating chocolates as part of my new diet)

  • Flower
Who would not love to receive a flower on mother's day. Makes your life a bit sweeter, relieves stress from all day work and thoughtfulness really counts.

Happy Mother's Day to All Moms!

BDO easy investment plan

This morning I was reading an article from yahoo on how to become a millionaire. It made me think of ways I can do to increase my savings without putting too much risk. I was thinking of investing because of higher interest yield compared to regular deposit accounts. Since I am new to investing I was a bit hesitant on what I was going to do. But I saw this investment scheme from BDO. I became interested and read more about it.

This is what I came up with:
"BDO Trust Launches the BDO Easy Investment Plan
Saving is, and always will be, the foundation of any fortune. It is secure, risk-free and readily accessible. But saving alone is not enough to make your money grow. You should also invest. This means taking some risks, but the rewards are higher. When you save and invest, your money has the power to grow faster.
With this in mind, BDO, through its Trust and Investments Group, developed the BDO Easy Investment Plan (EIP), a wealth build-up scheme that enables you to attain your financial goals and financial wellness through the twin habits of regularly saving and investing. It incorporates the best, tried and tested principles that make a successful saving and investment plan and provides a solution to counter the major obstacles to saving and investing.
To join the EIP, all you need to do is enroll your BDO checking/savings/payroll account under the BDO automatic debit facility wherein a fixed amount (with a minimum amount of PhP1,000.00) per month is deducted (once or twice a month) for immediate investment in your selected BDO Unit Investment Trust Fund (UITF). Every contribution you make participates fully in the investment performance of the selected fund as soon as the deduction is made. However, regular Confirmations of Participation (COP’s) will be issued only for accumulated contributions that have reached a market value of at least PhP 10,000."
So I have to consult my husband first about this but I'm positive that it will be a good investment.

My little boy

This is my son, a four-year old, who is so full of energy. He is restless, fidgety and so stubborn. I am not sure if he just want our attention but I think full attention is given by the whole household to him. Hans is a good boy but at times he could become hard headed. He is the only child in the family and I sometimes fear that he is becoming a brat.

At times he doesn't want to take a bath that he and his yaya end up fighting. Yelling, crying and all sorts of things. But in the end, when he is inside it's hard to make him come out. Oh, the hardship of having a 4 year-old (hahaha). When he loves the food that is in the table you won't have a hard time feeding him but if not he will give you all the excuses in the world. When he doesn't want to talk to you on the phone, he won't. There are times when he say's "pag sinabi kong yes, yes. pagsinabi kong no, no" (taken from me of course).  He will make sure that the television is in his favorite channel or he will find the remote and hold it hostage (hahaha). And when we are at the mall, everyone should have a hawk eye or else you will loose him because he can run fast to somewhere he wants to go.

But despite all this he is the sweetest kid I know. Can easily give you a hug and a kiss. Won't go to sleep without holding mama's arm. I love him for that. I know that time will come he will be more independent and will ask for space but until then I have to make the most out of this experience.

My favorite perfume

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
With its fruity-floral scent may I say that D&G light blue is my favorite perfume. Given to me by my husband (I forgot the occasion) a few years back, it was the best gift given to me by him. It's light scented just perfect for someone with allergies. I hate strong scents so this one is a big hit for me. A little spray goes a long way. Perfect for the summer weather. I love love the scent. Have to buy again.

Malungai Life Oil

Last February 2012 I went to the dermatologist for an appointment regarding my allergies. One of my prescriptions was "malungai life oil". To be taken twice a day before meals with lukewarm water. At first I thought that malungai are for  breastfeeding mothers or mothers who will breastfeed. But I went on to buy it. A box contains 60 500 mg soft gel capsules good for a month (for a 2x a day prescription). After reading the leaflet inside the box I found out that it helps:
  • increase energy
  • strengthen the immune system
  • manage diabetes sugar levels
  • lower cholesterol levels
  • control blood pressure
  • fight cancer
Malungai has been found to have as much calcium as 4 glasses of milk, as much vit c as 7 oranges and as much potassium as 3 bananas per ounce of malunggay. It is also an anti-oxidant and good for the skin.

I have been taking it since and I felt a difference in my body. Less cough and colds (few instances of allergic rhinitis). But may I say that this helps me a lot especially with my 4 year old kid who is so energetic. A boost in nutrition, beauty and energy.

The Moon That Embraces The Sun

The moon that embraces the sun

The story of the secret love between Lee Hwon, a fictional king of Joseon, and Wol, a female shaman. Wol was born as Heo Yeon Woo, the daughter of a noble family who won the love of the crown prince, Hwon. Her enemies, jealous of her family's position in court, schemed against her and wrestled away her rightful place as crown princess and nearly takes her life. Years later, an embittered Hwon meets Wol, now a female shaman who has no recollection of her past.
I love this korean series from the novel of Haereul Poomeun Dal by Jeong Eun Gwol.  A 20- episode series that ended last march 2012 in Korea.  I also hope that it will be shown here in the Philippines.
